Add your birth month and birth day to the target year, then reduce the total to a single digit (master numbers 11 and 22 may be preserved). For example, born on 14 December, for the year 2026: 12 + 14 + (2+0+2+6=10) = 36 → 9. That makes 2026 a Personal Year 9.
The most common convention ties the Personal Year to the calendar year, so it shifts on 1 January. Some practitioners transition it around your birthday instead. This calculator uses the calendar-year method, which is the most widely used.
